Heidi Bloom
Founding Partner

In both her professional and personal life, Heidi is known for her discipline, loyalty, and determination — qualities that guide her work on behalf of every client she represents.”

Heidi is a North Carolina Board Certified Family Law Specialist whose career has been defined by leadership, service, and a deep commitment to helping clients navigate some of life’s most difficult transitions. A Fellow in the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, Heidi devotes her practice exclusively to family law, representing clients in all aspects of domestic litigation, mediation, and arbitration.

Heidi earned her B.A. in Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1991 and her J.D. from Wake Forest University School of Law in 1995. At Wake Forest, she was a member of the National Moot Court Team and Moot Court Board, served as a teaching assistant for Legal Research and Writing, and was elected to the Order of the Barristers.  After law school, Heidi had the privilege of clerking for Justice Willis P. Whichard of the North Carolina Supreme Court. The two-year clerkship provided an invaluable window into appellate decision-making and continues to influence her thoughtful, disciplined approach to advocacy and problem-solving.

Heidi began her practice in Charlotte before moving to Raleigh in 1999 to join Wyrick Robbins, where she built a distinguished family law practice grounded in careful preparation, professionalism, and principled advocacy. Over the course of more than three decades, she has earned the respect of clients, colleagues, and judges alike for her steady judgment and practical approach to resolving complex family law matters.

Heidi has also devoted significant time to leadership within the North Carolina legal community. She served as Chair of the North Carolina Bar Association Family Law Council and is the current president of the North Carolina Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers.  She has chaired and served on numerous continuing legal education committees and was part of the committee that drafted the Wake County Family Court local rules implemented in 2010. Heidi also served nine years as a State Bar Councilor for the 10th Judicial District, served on the Board of Governors of the North Carolina Bar Association for three years, and is currently a member of the Disciplinary Hearing Commission. Mentoring younger lawyers and giving back to the legal profession has long been among the most rewarding aspects of her career, and she remains deeply committed to strengthening the profession.

Her work has been widely recognized. Heidi has been consistently named among the Top 50 Women Super Lawyers in North Carolina, the Top 100 Super Lawyers in North Carolina, and the Top 25 Super Lawyers in Raleigh. She is listed annually in The Best Lawyers in America and Business North Carolina’s Legal Elite, and in 2021 she received the Distinguished Service Award from the North Carolina Bar Association Family Law Section.

Heidi moved to North Carolina from New York in 1978 and has proudly called the state home ever since. Outside the courtroom, she and her husband are the proud parents of two accomplished athletes who have competed — or will compete — at the collegiate level. A lifelong sports enthusiast herself, Heidi enjoys playing golf and tennis, spending time in the mountains and at the beach, and being intentional about staying connected with the friends and colleagues who have shaped her life and career.

In both her professional and personal life, Heidi is known for her discipline, loyalty, and determination — qualities that guide her work on behalf of every client she represents.
